Deaf Support Services

The 2025/26 season saw British Sign Language (BSL) introduced on the stadium screen, making matchday entertainment, pitchside interviews and competitions accessible to more supporters. This complemented our established audio commentary service for blind and partially sighted fans.

The DSA led the campaign for this provision, helping the Club recognise its importance and bringing West Ham into line with many other clubs already offering matchday BSL. The Club fully embraced the initiative, producing a video of first-team players and DSA members signing our “Bubbles” anthem. It was shown on the big screen at a match dedicated to promoting both the new service and the Disabled Supporters’ Association, accompanying the fans as they sang as the players took to the pitch.

TNT Sports also featured the story, following and filming our DSB representative, Keighley, and her son Leo —both of whom are deaf—to capture their matchday experience and highlight the Club’s big-screen BSL service.
